Nearly every day, I walk by the spot where this was originally filmed — at Lex and 51st in front of what is now a Doubletree Hotel. The grates are still there, sitting atop the 4-5-6 line. Those scenes didn’t make the final cut because of crowd noise, and were refilmed on a soundstage.
