Small Doses
Notwithstanding the hoopla around Bloggeur Bleu and color in general, too much color can be weary on my eyes, especially in a staid corporate setting. Those of us who also work for The Man, you may agree.
As such, I’ve jettisoned most of the louder, brighter items from my wardrobe, retaining a few choice “go to hell” pieces and accessories. From an uber-prep green & pink striped polo to a purple v-neck sweater to an oversaturated orange dress shirt (why?) — most have been dispatched to Goodwill. Muted colors and small doses of statement colors, in ties or squares for instance, I’m still fine with.
This turquoise Italian-made crew neck had been sitting in a bag labeled Donate, until this photo of well-executed layering gave me some lightbulbs.
Under a navy DB, which by custom remains buttoned, the peek of turquoise in the upper triangle brought just the right amount of color for my tastes.
